Diabetic Foot Assessment

A Diabetic Foot Assessment only applies to patients that are already diagnosed as diabetic.

This annual appointment typically lasts up to 30 minutes, during this time an assessment is performed of the patient’s circulation and sensation to the feet to determine the patient’s level of risk in developing a diabetic foot complication such as foot ulcerations and amputation. A report can be created and emailed to your GP/practice nurse. 

Tailored diabetic footcare advice will also be given.

For all new patients we obtain a medical and surgical patient history, including medications prescribed which will be recorded at the first appointment. We also perform an initial foot assessment to determine vascular and neurological status of the feet.

Existing patients will have their details checked regularly and routine assessments repeated as required.
