Verrutop® Verruca Treatment
Verrutop® is a specialist treatment for verrucas suitable for adults and children aged six years and over. Unlike cryotherapy (freezing) or traditional acid-based treatments, Verrutop® does not work by freezing or burning the tissue. Instead, it works by denaturing viral proteins and dehydrating the infected tissue, allowing it to naturally shed while healthy skin is preserved wherever possible.

Q. How much does Verrutop® verruca treatment cost?
A. Verrutop® treatment is provided as a package of three treatments for a total cost of £204, in line with the manufacturer's recommended treatment protocol.
The package price includes the initial New Patient Appointment cost and three Verrutop® treatment sessions.
If further treatment is required following completion of the initial three-treatment course, additional appointments are charged at £68 per treatment.
Your podiatrist will always assess your verruca and discuss whether Verrutop® is the most appropriate treatment option for you based on your individual circumstances.
Q. How long does Verrutop® verruca treatment take?
A. Your first Verrutop® treatment can usually be provided during your initial appointment.
Further treatments, if required, are normally carried out at intervals of 7–14 days, depending on how the verruca responds and the advice of your podiatrist.
Q. Can you treat more than one verruca during the same appointment?
A. Yes. Several verrucas can usually be treated during the same appointment.
The amount of Verrutop® solution available within each ampule is limited, so your podiatrist will assess the best way to use the treatment effectively. In some cases, it may be preferable to apply more solution to fewer verrucas rather than spreading the treatment too thinly across multiple areas.
Q. Is Verrutop® guaranteed to remove my verruca?
A. No. Unfortunately, no verruca treatment can guarantee complete removal.
Every verruca is different and treatment outcomes can vary depending on factors such as the size, location and duration of the verruca, as well as individual patient factors.

Q. Is Verrutop® treatment uncomfortable?
A. Some patients may experience a mild stinging or uncomfortable sensation during and shortly after application. This varies depending on the location and characteristics of the verruca.

Q. How long does it take for the verruca to disappear after Verrutop® treatment?
A. The time taken for a verruca to resolve varies between individuals.
Following treatment, the affected tissue may change in appearance before naturally shedding. Your podiatrist will explain what to expect following treatment and advise you on any aftercare required.
Q. Is Verrutop® verruca treatment suitable for everyone?
A. Not everyone is suitable for Verrutop® treatment. During your initial appointment, your podiatrist will assess your verruca and determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you.

Q. Is Verrutop® better than Swift® Microwave Therapy?
A. Both Verrutop® and Swift® Microwave Therapy are treatment options for verrucas, but they work in different ways.
